Zeon Corporation (Zeon; head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kimiaki Tanaka), through its investment subsidiary Zeon Ventures, has invested in AM Batteries (AMB), a U.S. startup developing an innovative electrode manufacturing process for lithium-ion batteries. In parallel with this investment, Zeon will work closely with AMB to support the commercialization of its solutions.

AMB possesses an electrostatic spraying technology used in manufacturing electrodes for lithium-ion batteries. The technology eliminates the use of toxic solvents, thereby significantly reducing manufacturing costs and CO2 emissions during production.

To accelerate the transition to a sustainable mobility society through the widespread adoption of electric vehicles and to support AMB’s further growth, Zeon will assist AMB with innovating its lithium-ion battery manufacturing process and share the research, marketing, and sales resources that the Zeon Group possesses in Japan and overseas as a material producer of lithium-ion batteries.

In order to contribute to a sustainable society and provide products and services that are indispensable to society, Zeon will continue to invest in and nurture startups in four key areas (healthcare and life sciences, CASE and MaaS, telecommunications (5G/6G), and energy conservation) to realize a sustainable earth and safe and comfortable life for people.
